Questions & Answers: Marty O.

Were you successful in selling your house? How long did it take?

Marty: Yes! About two months total.

Did you have concerns about the difficult housing situation when you put your house on the market?

Marty: No — it was right before the big slump. But my personal situation (the buyer retracting at the last minute) made it very stressful, so I was worried the second time it went on the market.

How did you get the house sold?

Marty: My realtor worked together with them every step of the way. It was a huge relief. They told me, "Just move in. This is no big deal; it will work out." And they were right!

What could have been better about the program (or what could we have done better)?

Marty: I can't think of anything!

What was your biggest concern before going into the program?

Marty: That I would have to move without my house being sold and wouldn't be able to pay.

What would you have done if the Home Sale Deferral Program had not been available?

Marty: The movers were scheduled, I had already started downsizing — I don't know what I would have done!
