Were you successful in selling your house? How long did it take?

Allan & Shirley: Yes. It took an additional six weeks from the time we got into the program to get it sold.

Was the housing market easy or difficult when you put your house on the market?

Allan: The housing market was very difficult…
Shirley: Horrendous!
Allan: And we had a prime piece of property on the 9th tee of Spanish Hills, and it was still bad.
Shirley: You couldn't get anybody who could qualify for financing.

How did you get the house sold? Did you use the full time allowed under the program?

Shirley: We didn't need to use the full time of the program. We found the right person.
Allan: Thanks to the extra time we had.

What could have been better about the program?

Allan: I can't think of anything.
Shirley: Me either.
Allan: I think it was great.
Shirley: The peace of mind of knowing it was there was terrific.

What was your biggest concern before going into the program?

Allan: The program gave us time to arrange the funds we needed to pay off the balance and to have extra cash.

What would you have done if the Home Sale Deferral Program had not been available?

Shirley: We would have lost where we are.
Allan: We would have had to cancel here.
Shirley: I would have lost my new life, for heaven sakes, and the peace of mind and all the good stuff that goes along with it.
