The game of Bridge is played here every day of the week, sometimes for fun, sometimes for competition, and always for mental stimulation. Guess what?
It seems we finally hit the jackpot — no, make that the Grand Slam — when we hired the new Bridge Director, Norman Schwartz.
This fellow arrived just recently and already the Bridge activities here have ballooned to new proportions. The lesson attendance jumped from a handful to over 50 in three weeks. The popularity of this game which was always large is now off the charts. Here is a little introduction to a remarkable man.
Norman has degrees from several universities (Colorado, Arizona and New York) in Law/Taxation. His Bridge playing started in college and, as a freshman, he was the youngest Life Master in the U.S.
He has played professionally for many years, culminating in the semi-finals at San Diego in 2009 after defeating the top European team. They lost after a 14-hour contest which was broadcast worldwide on the internet. He is now a certified ACBL Bridge Director and Teacher. Norman is personable, humorous, and patient.
He can teach beginners to advanced players and his lessons will rotate in 8-week sessions.
We now have a man for all seasons for the game for all reasons.
