They stuck to their big band routines with occasional married-couple skits that became more and more popular. The script was based on their own family life. These pictures were taken in our national parks, foreign countries, flower gardens and of wildlife. This is Gordon’s second time displaying his photographs at La Costa Glen and we are excited to have his newest display. Jeremy J. Stone of Oakgrove has been working on war and peace issues for 48 years with the linguistic help of his wife, B.J. Stone. He will display in January in the Lakeside cases relevant photographs...

For at least seven years, dedicated Bingo players have met at 3:30 on Sunday afternoons for some interesting games and money prizes. Starting out with a hand-cranked ball shuffler, someone decided to shop E-Bay for the real deal. Upon the arrival of the Bingo Machine, residents marveled how much easier it was to play. The Bingo Committee chaired by Carolyn Sherman makes sure that all is in readiness for the games to begin. Peggy Risk and Pauline Parks are the bankers and card distributors....

England Sr. Dan Fink was awarded on October 27, 2010, the Fubini Award for his Department of Defense (DOD) service in the 1960s including time spent as Deputy Director Defense Research and Engineering (Strategic and Space Systems). He gave freely of his time to DOD advisory activities, including 21 years as a member of the Defense Science Board, 30 years as a member of the Defense Intelligence Agency Advisory Board, and an extended period of time on the Army Science Board. Sometimes when the doorbell rang, the lady of the house would open the door and meet face-to-face with a door-to-door salesman. The first one I met was selling magazine subscriptions and, gee, did he ever have a great sob- story, so I subscribed. My next experience was the Encyclopedia Bri- tannica salesman.
