Does this lady look familiar to you? Well, it might be that you remember her as a server in our dining room a few years back. She is now using her talent and skills as a member of the Activities team at our Health Center. She comes to us with a broad background as a caregiver for 15 years in nursing homes both in the Utah and Nevada areas, She speaks lovingly of her mother who made daily visits to the sick and needy who needed a hug and a bit of encouragement. Diana felt such a wonderful feeling as she accompanied her and vowed she would do the same if she ever had a chance.
Diana is a member of four on the team headed by Lara Gibbs. Her job is to help plan the activities for each and every resident at Skilled Nursing. The program is geared to meet every need of as many as 30 patients. She helps to see to the mental as well as the physical problems that each may have. They serve Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living as well as The Gardens. It is a very unique experience as each have different personalities. They also try in every way to include the family in the healing process.
Each member of the team tries to work in a loving manner and each has her own individual style to achieve this. Some of the residents are wheelchair bound but are included in all activities, if possible. Any day of the week you may find a Bingo game, an animal program, guest speakers as well as a celebration on holidays.
