March 2010 Display Cases

- By Betty McCreary -

Fairway display cases will feature the daughter of Barbara Harris of Oak Grove, who has designed jewelry for Sax Fifth Avenue customers. Barbara’s daughter, Nancy Casper of San Marcos, has been designing all her life. She is also a retired
dentist, school teacher, real estate broker and decorator. Nancy has just returned from Tahiti where she purchased pearls for her jewelry creations. We are very fortunate to have this fine jewelry on display.

For the first time, Lakeside will display Joan Scales’ (of Canyonview) most unusual collection of fairies, elves, pixies and leprechauns. Also, she will show her Treasurers of Tutankhamun. These 22-carat gold-over-porcelain figures are stunning.

Joan’s favorite children’s book was Kenneth Grahame’s “The Wind in the Willows.” Part of the display is inspired from this book, including Toad, Badger, Mole, Ratty, and a large toadstool house. Joan’s collection came from years of antique shopping in Ireland, Scotland and England. Don’t miss these displays!
